Effective Date: 01-Jan-2026 Last Updated: 01-Jan-2026

Welcome to the Association of Power Engineers (AOPE) website. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, safeguard, and disclose your information when you visit our website and use our member portal.

1. Information We Collect

To provide you with our services, we collect the following types of information:

  • Personal Identification Information: Name, Date of Birth, Phone Number (used as your primary login ID), and Email Address.
  • Professional Details: Your current Designation, Engineering Wing, Zone, Date of Joining, and Date of Retirement.
  • Financial & Payment Data: When you pay your Annual or General Body Meeting (GBM) subscriptions, we collect transaction records (such as order IDs and amount paid).

Note: All payment processing is handled securely by our third-party payment gateway, Razorpay. We do not collect, store, or process your credit/debit card numbers, UPI PINs, or bank account credentials on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Authenticate your identity and manage your member login securely.
  • Calculate accurate subscription dues based on your specific designation.
  • Process payments and generate official PDF receipts for your records.
  • Maintain an accurate registry of active association members.
  • Communicate with you regarding your membership status, dues, and association updates.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We only share your information in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We share necessary data (such as your Name and Phone Number) with our trusted payment processor (Razorpay) strictly for the purpose of pre-filling your payment checkout and verifying transactions.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or government regulation.

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. We use cryptographic signature verification for all financial transactions to prevent fraud and tampering.

5. Your Rights and Choices

As a registered member, you have the right to:

  • Access and Update: You can view and update your basic profile information (such as your Name) directly through the "My Profile" section of your dashboard.
  • Phone Number Changes: Because your phone number serves as your secure login ID, changes to this specific data point must be requested through our support team to prevent unauthorized account access.
  • Payment History: You have full access to view your transaction history and download past receipts at any time.

6. Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses standard session cookies to keep you securely logged in as you navigate between pages (e.g., moving from the Dashboard to the Payment History page). We do not use intrusive tracking cookies or third-party advertising trackers.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify members of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated "Effective Date."
